British Heart Foundation Event

We are pleased to announce that on the 9th October, Steve Mellor (Contracts Engineer) completed the Dark Peak Mountain Bike Challenge in aid of the British Heart Foundation. F T Leisure were proud to sponsor him for the event.

Unfortunately, following a couple of crashes, the Ultimate Route was not achievable in the time, so he had to settle for the “Red” Route. Starting from Hope College, the route took him thru’ Castleton, over Mam Tor (first crash), down from Hollins Cross (second crash) along the Vale of Edale to Derwent, around Ladybower Reservoir to Thornhill and back to Hope via Wooler Knoll.

Despite the crashes, Steve completed the gruelling 6 hour ride and is looking forward to his next challenge...
