Refurbishments
In January 2010, F T Leisure successfully completed the installation of UV systems on the main leisure pool and indoor whirlpool at the infamous Splash Landings Hotel aquatic facility, Cariba Creek. Situated within Alton Towers, this themed leisure pool facility was originally designed to incorporate Ozone systems; due to continued problems with these units, F T Leisure were appointed to design and install an alternative sterilant. The UV units used were manufactured by Hanovia UK.
The installation of new water distribution pipework on the 25m and Learner Pool, including suction, delivery and a new header pipe from the existing scum channel. Other works included new outlets from the scum channel (core drilled), a new levelling tank system on both pools and new circulating pumps.
F T Leisure have completed the refurbishment of the water treatment and filtration system at Chorlton Leisure Centre (Manchester). The facility, which was built inthe 1930's, contains a 22.4m x 7.8m main pool, constructed from concrete and finished in glazed bricks. Our contract included the design and installation of a complete new water treatment and filtration system, to meet current standards and guidelines.
The upgrade of chemical dosing systems at Biddulph Leisure Centre, South Moorlands Leisure Centre and Brough Park Leisure Centre. Works included builderswork modifications to the chemical storage areas.
The existing horizontal filter was replaced with 2No Lacron filters, including all pipework, valves and bracketry. A fully automated backwashing system was incorporated, using pneumatic valves; this system is designed to reduce daily maintenance. For energy conservation, invertor drives were added to the circulating pumps. Other components that were replaced include the Heat Exchanger, the Flowmeter and the water meter for the pool make-up system.
Sharley Park Leisure Centre is an early 1970’s aquatic facility, containing a 25m main competition pool and 12m teaching pool. North East Derbyshire District Council appointed F T Leisure to carry out the design, supply and installation of new water treatment and filtration systems.
