Another 50m Pool secured!

Our portfolio of 50m aquatic centres has just increased with our appointment on Winchester Sports & Leisure Centre. In Feb 2019, we got the go ahead to commence our design works on the £38m scheme, which got full council approval on the 1st March.

The facilities, featuring a 50-metre pool, training pool, confidence waters, a Hydrotherapy pool, an eight-court sports hall and many other dry sports activities will be managed by Everyone Active and the construction will be by Willmott Dixon.

Cllr Caroline Horrill, Leader of Winchester City Council, said: “The development of the Winchester Sport and Leisure Centre will bring a fantastic, state-of-the-art facility to Winchester. This is great news for our residents who have been working closely with us throughout. So many people are looking forward to these exciting plans becoming a reality. We are delighted that the decision taken by Council means the final green light for the project”.

The new facility will be developed with financial support from Hampshire County Council, the Pinder Trust, and Winchester University.

The 50m pool will house a moveable floor and submersible boom system, to optimise the functionality of the swimming pool area. The training pool will also have a moveable floor.

Construction at the Garrison Ground in Bar End will start later this month. The centre due to open in 2021.
