UK’s first Swimwall installation!

FT Leisure has worked with SR Smith, designers and manufacturers of the Swimwall hinged bulkhead, on the UK’s first installation at the University of Bath.

The University has a 50m Myrtha pool, which is heavily used by the university, the community and as a training facility for elite swimmers. To improve the functionality of the 50m pool, the Swimwall quickly and easily transforms the pool into 2 sections, providing a competition short course length and a solid wall for turning at the 25m mark.

The wall is manufactured from GRP and is operated pneumatically. There are several hinge blocks fixed to the base of the pool and wall anchors to provide rigidity once the Swimwall is raised. The solution is easily retrofitted to any pool and installed in less than 3 days.

FT Leisure worked as principal contractor and are currently in talks with SR Smith to become sole agent for the UK.
